Sensory Translator

Sensory Translator is a device that enables users to experience cross-sensory communication. The custom-built headpieces convert one person's sensory input into another medium in real time. Breathing becomes tactile feedback, and eye movement becomes sound to provide a different perspective on nonverbal communication. By temporarily replacing familiar sensory experiences with translated ones, it invites participants to step into an altered communication, questioning whether we ever truly experience the world as others do and raising questions about topics like empathy, perception, and communication through a more-than-human design perspective.
